At some point this semester,
please post a link to an article, video, website, etc. that made you think
about something we’ve done in class. Also, please provide a brief discussion
about whatever you submitted. This has no due date, but my hope is that you
will check it periodically and read what your classmates are posting (feel free
to comment, too).

Hi, everyone. Cat here.
The presentation last week had me thinking about gender roles, and that of course led me to the Prelinger Archives. I thought you all might enjoy a classic social engineering film from the late 40s. Here’s Coronet’s “Are You Popular?”

I also found a little animated film on poststructuralism that you might enjoy. The ending is clever. (And note Derrida's nice head of hair.)

Somewhere in the Anyon book (it must have been the chapter by Eve Tuck!) there's a line from Roland Barthes that I like very much: "Reading is what happens when we look up from the page." Sometimes I think there's an analogous action with writing ...
I hope to see you all next semester, and I wish you a wonderful break!
